"Sarah" by Marek Halter is a book of Biblical times written along the same lines as "The Red Tent".
The book begins with Sarah, at the end of her life. telling about the dreams she has. She believes that they are sent by Abraham's Yhwh(God). The book then continues with the story of her life when at the age of 12 she had balked at her marriage and had run away. After meeting Abram, she is returned to her father's lordly way of life for a time. Follow her story from living an exotic life as being a high priestess to that of nomads living off the land. If you enjoyed,"The Red Tent", you will enjoy this book equally well.

Just recently purchased from the United Church Resource Centre is," Devotional Stories for Women", by Susan M. Heim and Jennifer Sands. This is a Chicken Soup for the Soul type of book with a contents listing which groups the stories into 11 different subject areas. Each devotion has a short 1-2 page story including a related Bible verse and a short prayer.
A short bio on each of the authors is included at the back which makes it exciting to find out something about the life of each of the contributors. This is a great book of short stories, which is handy, when you feel that you can no longer finish a full-length book. Also, it would make a good addition to the devotions at a meeting.
